When I first began my career over thirty years ago as a psychology and nursing major, I had the lucky pleasure of meeting the most wonderful family. I answered an ad on my student job board to be a caregiver of a young boy with cerebral palsy.
Over the years I had the honor of caring for him, I was a witness to the most beautiful love and joy shared between this child and his family. This child brought so much love and compassion into the lives of so many people, myself included.
He showed me that you don’t have to be perfect to BE PERFECT. As I soon discovered, the hustle and bustle of life as an RN wasn’t meant for me.
The day-to-day working with and caring for children with special needs was. I have studied for years so that I can bring the knowledge of childhood play, growth, and development to families and communities.
It is my hope to bring the skills for working with children of all abilities to help them reach their maximum potential to communities in need locally, nationally, and even through service internationally.
That’s why I created Playful Heart OT and Parent Education. I can help you get there!
You are your child’s best play partner. The natural environment-which they are in every day-your home- provides endless opportunities for learning.
